This last week has been very eventful.  On Saturday Brandt and I went to Monster Jam with Covey and Xander.  A lot of Brandt’s family here in town all went too.  We dropped the younger kids off at Marie’s house to be babysat by their cousins and carpooled into the show.  The event parking was full so we had to park a little ways away and walk in.  No problem right?….  While we were all talking and walking in I found the only brick that was raised up in the sidewalk because of a tree root.  I tripped and fell on my face before I could even have time to realize I was falling.  I had my camera bag with a good 35lbs of equipment on my back so that probably helped me fall so fast.  When I fell I bashed my left shoulder into the sidewalk and slid on my face cutting up my lip and chipping two of my top teeth.  I laid on the ground for a minute while Brandt, Jon, and Marie all hurried over to help me.  I just was realizing what had happened and was feeling my teeth because I knew they hit hard.

We walked the rest of the way to Monster Jam and as we walked in Brandt’s Dad looked at me and said (Jokingly) “Do I need to have a talk with my son about the way he is treating you?”  I just nodded my head yes and then went to the bathroom to clean up and assess the damage.

I did stay for the show.  Jon offered to bring be home, but I figured that I would only be sitting and icing my face at home and I could do that there too.  Needless to say though I was not in a picture taking mood anymore.  I had Brandt snap a few photos for me.  That night my lip swelled up so much that I could see it in my peripheral vision.  Over the next two days Brandt and I joked around that it was like the Movie “A Cinderella Story” where the step mom gets Botox and “Can’t show emotion for 24 hours”.  Luckily now I am doing a lot better, and I’m hoping that by Sunday my lip will finish healing.

On Monday we had our monthly FHE (Family Home Evening) where the whole family in town gets together.  This time it was at our house.  We decided to do something different and we copied “Good Mythical Morning” from YouTube.  We had 2 teams and we had one person from each team go to the table and get blindfolded.  They then would plug their nose and we would put something in their mouth.  If they could guess what it was with their nose plugged they would get 2 points.  If they had to unplug their nose they would get 1 point.  We video taped the whole thing.  Once we get it off the camera and compiled I will share it.  It was a ton of fun!  Although I’m not sure Brandt’s brother and Sister-in-law like us as much after Brandt got them to eat dog treats….

This week with Jerrica I am having to work a lot with her on her tone of voice and how she speaks to me.  She has been very bossy, and also very sassy with me.  The other day I sat her down to talk to her about how she was not to boss her brother around, but that she was supposed to help him with chores.  At one point I looked at her and said “Do you know everything?”  She quickly responded “Yes I do”  then she glanced up and added “But not really…..”  Yes she keeps me on my toes.  The only downside to teaching her about tone of voice, is that she loves to point out when mine is not that great.

Phoenix is hitting the age where he gets into everything.  This week he found a Sharpie and took it to nap time with him without me noticing.  After naps I found Sharpie all over his wall and door…  Guess it is time for me to start thinking about what color I want his room to be.

Phoenix was so cute the other day!  I walked out into the room and he was standing at the kitchen table trying to blow up a balloon for a long time.  It was cute watching him blow over and over trying to get it to work.  Also I LOVE his giggle at the end of the video.  Thats my little boy!

Covey is doing pretty well.  The last couple days though his pain level has been going up.  Instead of going almost 6 hours in-between asking for pain medicine he is now lasting 2… then I get to help him wait till he can have another dose.  I talked to the doctor and they called in some steroids to help with the inflammation, and they think it is because his scabs are about to come off.  Hoping he feels better soon.
