Thursday last week was a very busy day. I brought the kids to the dentist office and the oldest 4 had their teeth cleaned.  It was Phoenix’s first cleaning.  With how great he is opening his mouth at the doctor’s office, and letting me brush his teeth I thought it would be no problem at all.  I was wrong.  He started to cry silent tears and not open his mouth.  He looked at me like he had been violated.  We only had the fronts of his teeth cleaned that day.  The dentist did put fluoride on him and check for cavities though.

All of the kids were cavity free however I needed to bring Covey into an orthodontist for a consultation.  He has a cross-bite meaning that his front adult tooth sits in-between his two bottom adult teeth.  We need to have this corrected to prevent his bottom tooth from rubbing the enamel off the top tooth, or the top tooth from pushing out the bottom tooth.  I went to the. Orthodontist office to schedule an appointment and they were able to squeeze us in right then.  Covey is going to be getting braces on his front two teeth that will connect them to his back teeth.  He will have them for about 6 months or so.  I can’t believe how much just a couple braces cost!!!

After finishing up with appointments we went and had a lunch date with daddy and then went home.  I then tried to cut Jerrica’s hair.  She had decided for about a week that she wanted a haircut.  I was going to cut her hair up to his shoulders; however, I was not able to get it straight.  Luckily I a friend come over to the house and stay with the other kids, and I took Jerrica in to have her hair fixed.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  That night at bedtime Jerrica asked me to cuddle with her for a minute.  As I was lying in bed next to her she looked up and said “Mommy I know that I am little and you are big, but today I think we are a little alike.  We went on a special date (To get her hair cut) and we both have haircuts, I look a little like you.  I love you mommy.” It was so sweet ho hear her say something like that, that I was almost speechless.  The only thing I could do was give her a hug and tell her that I loved her too.

On Friday after the kids got home we all loaded up in the van and headed to Atlanta.  I found  out that my old college roommate Bridget and her family live there now. They were super nice and invited us to stay at their apartment.  We got there Friday night, and then went to six flags over Georgia Saturday morning.  We were a little nervous because there was initially a high chance of rain.  Luckily it only rained about 20 minutes and was just overcast and cool the rest of the time.  We had a lot of fun.  Phoenix finally got up enough courage to try going down a tunnel slide at the playground.  Once he did it, he then spent the next 30 minutes just climbing up and sliding down the slides until his face was red and dripping with sweat.

Xander loved Being the big Brother and Showing Phoenix the Rides

Brandt and I introduced the kids to the different water rides.  I went down Thunder Mountain with Covey, Xander, and Jerrica.  There were a bunch of different band groups at the park that day.  As we got onto the ride on of the girls said something to the effect that the workers were trying to ruin their ride by letting little kids on.  I didn’t hear it because I was buckling the kids in.  The worker (Who looked like a teenager herself) immediately stopped them in their tracks by threatening to kick them off the ride.  She informed them that we have just as much right to ride that as they did, and so if they were going to make comments like that, they would need to leave.   It was super funny because out of everyone on the ride, Covey was the one who got drenched (Oh, and the water was ice cold). Overall I think this was one of my favorite trips to six flags.

After the park we went back to Bridget’s house, and ate some Little Caesars pizza, and visited a little before heading back home.
