Yesterday was Jerrica’s birthday. It was a very special day, and I think it turned out great for her! Grandma Barb came into town to spend the weekend with her. She woke up to balloons hanging from her doorway with notes written on them (A family tradition). Then she got to pick what she wanted for breakfast. She decided on Chocolate, peanut butter, banana smoothies. Her birthday lined up on a Sunday this year so we got ready to go to church. She wore a new dress that Grandma Horrocks gave her and we went to church.
That afternoon we spent some time outside in the nice weather. Me and the three older kids all piled in the hammock and told stories. The kids wanted me to tell them about when I found out I was pregnant with each one of them. Then Jerrica wanted me to tell her the one (fictional) story that I remember my Dad telling me as a little girl. We went out to the back and picked honeysuckle flowers and the licked the juice out of them.
That night we had her favorite dinner – Spaghetti and meatballs. She had a cake decorated like the movie Frozen (Although I didn’t put a frozen character on top). I do not know how to decorate cakes well, but I had a friend come over and help teach me. That night we had a couple friends come over from church and be here while we sang and had cake. He was a trooper and even let Jerrica and the kids decorate him with masking tape. It was a fun night.
