In December we had some exciting news in our family.  I was pregnant.  I had just had a miscarriage about 6 weeks earlier, so while we told the kids, we were cautious spreading the word too early.  My body has decided that it does not like making progesterone in the beginning of pregnancies, so I immediately had to start taking supplements to help protect the baby.  (Without progesterone in your body, the placenta does not always attach properly)

While I was excited I was also nervous because taking progesterone tends to make me very nausus, and have migraines.  Needless to say while we had company in town in January there was no hiding the fact I was pregnant as I ran for the bathroom, or laid still trying to not move.

Ultrasound Jan 18th

Since I have a history of miscarrage, I was monitored weekly with ultrasounds and bloodwork until I was around 9 weeks along.  Then I switched to my regular OB’s office.  On my first visit my OB came in laughing.  He looked at me and said “If I remember right, you were in a lot of pain with your last pregnancy, and said that it was the last one.”  I smiled and said that was right.  He then told me that since I had lost so much weight that hopefully I would not have as much pain this time around.  He cracked a few jokes while I was in the office and I left laughing.  I really LOVE my OB.

On March 31st we had our big 20 week ultrasound.

We have a healthy looking baby girl.  I am still not feeling much movement yet, but the doctor says everything looks great.  He did mention that my placenta in anterior which can make it more diffucult to feel movement early on.  I just joke around with Brandt that after all the other kids I have nerve damage and so don’t have as much feeling anymore.  LOL

Our Baby Girl is Due to Join us around August 20th!!
